Meet Matt Gove, owner of Big City Fish Share. Big City Fish Share is committed to bringing super-fresh, sustainably-caught, and locally-caught seafood to your table. They are working with fishermen and processors near Amagansett, NY, at the tip of Long island. From there they have access to the clean, fresh ocean waters of Gardiner’s Bay, Block Island Sound, and offshore of Montauk. Tune in and learn about Community Supported Fisheries, regional ocean planning and sustainable seafood at large. For more information on Big City Fish Share click here. This program was brought to you by Cain Vineyard & Winery. Music provided courtesy of Takstar.

"We want that face to face connection with the person actually catching the fish, and the customer."

Although City Harvest’s office was hit hard; they continue to provide food to those in need across the city. We spoke with Kate MacKenzie, Director of Policy and Government Relations of City Harvest, about their work to provide ready to eat meals, and culturally appropriate meals to communities impacted by Sandy. Kate said the best way to support City Harvest is to visit the website for volunteer and donation opportunities.

"We were poised to do whatever we could and are really ramping up efforts to be in disaster relief mode in addition to continuing to serve our agency network of emergency food providers. These are certainly unprecedented times that have thrown us all a few curve balls. But City Harvest is on the road serving really great food to our agency network as well as those hit hardest by the Hurricane."--Kate MacKenzie, Director of Policy and Government Relations of City Harvest
