amaryllis, very gaudy and easy to grow, choose large solid bulbs, make sure there are no signs of mold on the bulbs, flowering will be compromised, size matters, the bigger the bulb the bigger the flowers, they like soil that holds a lot of moisture, peat moss or a similar mix, don't over water!, increase watering as the leaf emerges, turn the pot and encourage symmetrical growth, thick tubular flower stem, Paper White Narcissis, forcing bulbs, growing them in water breaks their drought dormancy, put them in a glass bowl with gravel, you can see the white spidery roots coming out within a few days after potting, easy and satisfying!,To comment on this episode click here.
