We spoke with Chris Parachini, owner of Roberta's, Blanca, and Rippers at Rockaway Beach. Flooding destroyed much of the Rockaway boardwalk and the ensuing fires destroyed much of the community. Chris said there is very little access to food for families in Rockaway Beach and without power, it will take time until stores are back up and running.

"The flooding was crazy enough but the ensuing craziness - the fires, all of it...it is pretty massive. No community is more prepared for this than Rockaway...if anyone has the strength to rebuild it better than before, it is the community out there."--Chris Parachini, owner of Rippers, Roberta's, & Blanca
