The humble Italian dish is actually quite the mover and shaker: it was the first official Bitcoin purchase; a frequent artistic muse; the heart of school food policy’s dysfunction; and the subject of Wall Street Journal investigations. Every week, we order a Roberta’s pie (or two) and share it with experts, all while dishing on the freshest, hottest pizza news and views.

Talia Ralph is a journalist, semi-professional eater, and masters candidate in Food Studies at NYU. She grew up in Montreal, where she honed her folded-slice technique on all-dressed Pendeli’s pies. When not hosting “Pizza Party,” she reports for Heritage Radio Network’s homepage, VICE Munchies, and Edible Magazine, among others. She just finished a stint as a Julia Child Foundation food writing fellow at Food52, where she ate copious amounts of homemade pizza.
